Day 49 : John 16:33

Read  John 16:33

Helpful Background Information:

  • John 16:33 is part of Jesus’ “farewell discourse,” His final words to the disciples before His arrest. In this chapter, Jesus prepares them for the trials ahead, warning them that they will soon scatter and leave Him alone, yet He assures them. His words highlight both the inevitable suffering (or storms of life) His followers will face and the ultimate victory He has already secured.

Reflection Questions:

  • Jesus says, “In the world, you will have tribulation.” How does knowing that hardship is a guarantee change the way you prepare for challenges in your faith?

  • What does it mean that Jesus has “overcome the world?

  • What areas of your life do you need to surrender to His victory so you can walk in faith instead of fear?
