Read Luke 5:1-11 and then Luke 4:31-37

Helpful Background Information:

This is another account of the same events described in Mark 1:16-28. In Luke’s Gospel, some events are not in chronological order, as seen here. In Luke 4:31-37, Simon Peter is mentioned when Jesus heals his mother-in-law (4:38), but Jesus calling Simon to follow Him is actually described later in Luke 5:1-11, almost like a flashback.
