Day 14 : James 2:14-26

Read James 2:14-26

Helpful Background Information:

  • In this passage, James addresses the relationship between faith and action. He explains that just saying you believe in God isn’t enough. Your actions will show that your faith is real. James gives examples of both what dead faith looks like and what real living faith looks like.

Reflection Questions:

  • James says even demons believe in God but don’t act on that belief. What’s the difference between just believing in Jesus and having a faith that leads to action?

  • What actions did the faith of Abraham, Rahab, and the paralytic’s friends lead them to take?

  • How would the story in Mark 2 have been different if the Paralytic’s friends had faith that Jesus could heal but didn’t act on it?

  • Are there any actions that you know God is calling you to do… but you’ve held off on doing? What is holding you back? How can you take simple steps of faithful obedience this week?
