Day 32 : Genesis 3:1-7
Read Gen 3:1-7
Helpful Background Information:
This passage is the historical account of the fall of humanity, explaining how humans went from being sinless to sinful. It does not describe the origin of sin itself but rather how sin entered and corrupted humanity and creation through the choice of Adam and Eve. Before this event, sin already existed; Satan was present and actively working against God’s creation. He successfully deceived Adam and his wife, leading them into sin.
Reflection Questions:
Notice how the woman sees something good in what God has declared evil (Genesis 3:6). In a similar way, while Jesus performs good works in God’s name, the scribes convince themselves that His actions are evil (Mark 3:22-30). Is there anything in your life that God has called evil that you continue to justify?
Memorize Isaiah 55:8-9 this week.
The woman’s doubt and eventual rejection of God’s command led to the fall of the entire human race. When we choose to say no to God, how do you think it impacts our lives and the world around us?
At times, God’s word and commands can be difficult to trust or even to understand. When you find yourself struggling with this, what steps can you take to seek clarity and remain faithful?
